Educational opportunities
The nonprofit National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) is the nation’s only provider of first-party education data. This data is unique for its ability to advance opportunities created for and by learners, regardless of education level. The data industry has exploded in size over the last two decades—companies in banking, healthcare, and nearly every other sector rely on it to drive decision-making. NSC knew they needed a partner with deep knowledge of data, event activation and sales to help them tell their story.
Data done differently
To comply with FERPA and other privacy acts, NSC must handle data differently than other large data houses. They make unique efforts to ensure they can always protect their customers and the data they’re responsible for. This approach to data governance is what drew Highwater to NSC. Meanwhile, our knowledge of data and how it works hand-in-hand with creativity and sales engagement is what drew NSC to us.
Driven by insight
NSC’s data is a powerful tool in helping companies dimensionalize how they “see” their customers—existing and future. Highwater saw an opportunity to further expand the organization’s insight into college students by connecting it with some of the world’s top brands. To accomplish this, we built tools and event engagements that would create connections with clients at some of the country’s largest conventions.
Learning and earning
NSC and Highwater worked together to strategize, design and build AcademicPerks, a student-exclusive discount site. It allows college students to take advantage of offers from brands they already know and love, and brands they’ll learn to love. AcademicPerks not only gives cash-strapped students budgetary relief but also gives NSC insight into their preferences and behaviors. These new understandings cemented the organization’s position as the nation’s only true source of broad, deep and accurate education data.
